Welcome to our December Learn Live Give Newsletter!

We’re so excited to be in touch with you again, and look forward to sharing LLG information with you. We understand that your time and attention is precious and so we really appreciate you taking a moment to connect with us... Thank you so much.

Our plan is to send monthly newsletters highlighting up-coming events, retreats and other musings that might be of interest to you.

If you missed our first LLG blog in November, please feel free to read it here.

Our Learn Live Give Intentions

Firstly, just a quick reminder of our Learn Live Give hopes and ambitions. We have created a ‘lifestyle’ venture with intentions to…:

•    Learn more about wellness, yoga, meditation, philosophy, personal development, culture and the environment;

•    Live according to these lessons (i.e. put them into practice to genuinely understand their value);

•    Give the benefits of these experiences to others, in the form of yoga events, retreats, meditations, social media content, blogging, podcasts, volunteering and creative projects.

NEWS: Product, Podcasts, Blogs, and Meditation!

Product:

We have created our very first physical Learn Live Give product – a set of 5 yoga wisdom bookmarks! Each bookmark has an inspirational quote on one side and a quick reference guide or translation of Sanskrit yoga terms on the other. We are so proud of this set as the idea came from our own reading experience, where Andy often needed a translation from Sanskrit when reading yoga books with Emma. We realised that a quick reference guide to some of the more common terms in yoga philosophy would be very useful when reading yoga texts. We are very proud to say they are already selling really well. Click the image to see more.

Podcast:

We have recorded our first podcast! It’s an introduction to our podcast series called “Yoga Matters” and was a bit of an experiment / venture into the unknown! It’s by no means perfect, but it was natural, unscripted, unedited and pretty much said everything we wanted to say for our opening podcast. Hopefully you will appreciate it as honest and from the heart and will warm to our ‘warts and all’ approach!

This is an exclusive sneak preview to you guys, so please let us know what you think. When we have recorded a few more, we will release them properly onto a Podcast site. We will let you know when this happens. We might even add a bit of intro music and use a better microphone too! :-D

Blog:

We have also updated our blog with a few news items, that you may find of interest. So please take a minute to have a look.

Meditation:

One of the blogs you will discover is our brief venture into Buddhist meditation. We went to 2 venues, the first one of which was at a Buddhist centre in Peterborough, where we tried a 1-hour meditation session that they do regularly on a Thursday evening. The second experimental experience was at a silent meditation retreat day in Northamptonshire. Both proved very interesting and definitely fuelled our desire and intention to practice meditation on a regular basis in future. Please feel free to take a look at the blog entry for more details.

SPECIAL OFFER:

Sri Lanka

In late January 2025, we’re heading off to Sri Lanka for a ten-day yoga retreat for a deep-dive into the Chakra’s, and we can’t wait!!!

The retreat has been fully booked for some time, however, due to personal circumstances, one of our guests is unable to attend.

Therefore, we have one space available, offered with a £200 discount to entice a last-minute attendee! The space is for a sole occupancy king sized en-suite room, discounted to the price of a shared twin room.

This is probably the cheapest yoga retreat you are ever going to find.

Mini Half-Day Yoga Retreats – at The Yoga Barn

As you may already know, we have moved away from running weekly yoga sessions from the Yoga Barn at Laurel Park, to hosting monthly half-day mini-retreats, towards the end of each month (on Thursdays and Saturdays). Sessions are suitable for all levels and combine somatic movement, hatha slow-flow, yin yoga, restorative yoga, breathing practices and guided meditation, followed by time for herbal teas and sweet treats with like-minded people.

Up and coming sessions include: Thursday 2nd January, Thursday 27th February, Saturday 1st March, Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th March 2025.

One-Day Yoga Retreats – Various UK Locations

Our first one-day retreat will be “Reflect and Restore” held at the Yoga Barn on Saturday 4th January 2025. We will reflect on our experience of 2024, before establishing what we need to recharge and move forwards into the year ahead. A perfect way to begin 2025.

We will also be offering a one-day retreat near Milton Keynes on Sunday 30th March, from the Granary, Bedfordshire. This event will focus on the practice of self-care, encouraging a sense of inner-connection and calm.

OTHERSTUFF:

Half day, one day and other events in 2025 can be found here.

Longer domestic and international retreats can be found here.
