This diagram is truly incredible. 


It shows the amount of fresh vs salt water on Earth and, amongst other things, illustrates the tiny impact we have on the distribution and use of that water. In some way we dominate and plague the planet… and yet in so many other ways we are relatively insignificant. It’s an interesting mix.  


So, if like us, you have ever wondered what percentage of the Earth’s water humans actually use, or have ever thought that with over 8 billion humans on the planet all being made of around 60% water, we must make up a significant amount of the fresh water on Earth… here’s your answer: 


The diagram shows that humans only use 0.03% of the fresh water on the planet! And that  humans only contain 0.3% of 0.03% of the 2.5% of water on the planet that is fresh,  that’s a minute 0.00000225% of the world’s water!
