We went to see Deva Premal and her husband, Miten, live at the Union Chapel venue in Islington, London at their kirtan concert.

(NB: kirtan /ˈkɪətʌn/ - a devotional song, in which a group repeats lines sung by a leader) 

Emma was very keen to see this globally renowned kirtan and chanting super-star, with Andy appreciating their potential talent, whilst recognising the event’s distance from his normal operating comfort zones! 

We both went anyway, Emma with eagerness and enthusiasm, and Andy with apprehension, but a determined effort to try to embrace all that challenges him in these kind of situations. 

It was an experience… Hundreds of people listening and joining in with the beautiful voices and instruments of the undebatable talents of Deva and her team was very moving at times. The audience participation that Andy dreaded was not as bad as he had feared and occassionally quite enjoyable… Whilst Emma loved every bit of it!  :-)
